about me
history
beginning my career in retail my creative talents were quickly realised with a keen interest in product display and promotions together with being a constant source of new ideas. my interest in new technologies led to me moving into electrical retail and on to cable television, developing both my technical knowledge and customer relation skills.
ideas in action
i am a great believer that it is not good enough to have a big idea, you also need the focus and perseverance to see your ideas through to realisation. an early example of this was the creation of a 'downtime' tv channel called 'watch' which broadcasted both in the cable tv franchises of westminster and milton keynes. despite dis-interest among some parties i was able to persuade the company director to support the idea and effectively created a new role where i managed the set up and produced the channel myself, together with the advertising sales houses which sold airtime on this and other cable channels
digital marketing
after training myself how to create web sites, through the development of a large night club listing web site, i successfully gained a position with bt (british telecom) as an on-line marketing manager in a division, broadcast services. being promoted a year and a half later to another division.
during the last two years i have been involved in many exciting project developing content and digital marketing initiatives for bt's Internet kiosks and more recently have been developing both business to business (bt.com/kioskadvertising) and business to consumer (btringtones.com / bt.com/payphones).
following a promotion i have moved to the convergent solutions division of bt where i will be responsible for the development of their digital media marketing.
marketing
in my current role i am responsible for managing search marketing campaigns, search engine optimisation and social media optimisation
