I cried out
And she was there
A horrible dream
She held me till I slept

She was gone
His jealously
Told her I was to old
For her arms
Too old
For the cuddles
So cold
Distanced from her love
So when I cried out
She could not hear me

Woken from a nightmare
Into the lonely darkness
I cried out with fear
Then cried out because
She was not there
Never again
Would she be there for me
To hold me when I was scared
To tell me that it would be OK
To wipe my tears away
Left alone
Forever
To cry out.
