The Friends of Kennington Park have raised nearly £250,000 from the lotter and other charitable donors for a new wildlife area and playground. The playground was opened by Kate Hoey MP last year, and I was delighted to be asked to open their new Nature Trail.
The trail aims to:
- Attract local children, in particular those ‘hard to reach’
- Attract local families
- Reflect input from schools’ workshops
- Promote environmental awareness and engage children with nature
- Incorporate play facilities in the park and encourage greater use of the park by under 12s
