There has for many years been a gift shop run by The Friends within St Thomas’ for the benefit of staff, patients and their visitors. The redevelopment of the main hospital entrance resulted in the shop moving to the unit, and I was there to officially open the new shop.

It was great to see the friends again, I was welcomed by Marian de la Piquerie who is currently chair of Friends. Many of the friends came out for this special event and I was delighted to declare the shop officially open with the cutting of a red ribbon.
