<p>Today Google has launched its own browser which is called Chrome.</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><a title="Google Chrome announcement" href="http://google.client.shareholder.com/Visitors/event/build2/MediaPresentation.cfm?MediaID=33101&amp;Player=1#" target="_blank"><img class="size-full wp-image-169 aligncenter" src="http://wellbelove.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/googlechrome.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="451" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align:left;">The web is buzzing about the potential threat to Microsoft’s dominance of the browser market which has already been attacked by a variety of alternative browsers including <a title="Opera" href="http://www.opera.com/">Opera</a>, <a title="Flock browser" href="http://www.flock.com/">Flock</a>., <a title="Safari browser" href="http://www.apple.com/safari/">Safari</a> and <a title="Mozilla browser" href="http://www.mozilla.org/">Mozilla</a> to name just a few.</p>
<p>In the past it seemed that many of those who insisted on using an alternative to Internet Explorer (when they had over 90% dominance) did so out of dislike for Microsoft or mistrust of the exposure to security flaws. Now there are many reasons for using alternatives because of the many unique features they contain. One of my favourites is Flock due to its social networking capabilities and opera for portability.<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-171" src="http://wellbelove.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/googlechromelogo.jpg" alt="" width="123" height="124" /></p>
<p>It will be interesting to see what impact Chrome has, and for web developers how they continue to face the challenge of testing on an increasing variety of browsers on PCs, Mac and a huge variety of mobiles. From a search viewpoint, with many of these browsers having search built into the browser bar and search results being delivered without the need to visit a search engine &#8211; the importance of natural search continues to grow.</p>
<p>For more read the <a title="Google Chrome" href="http://is.gd/27BZ">Google Book about Chrome</a>.</p>
<p>A media presentation is available from <a title="Google announcement on Chrome" href="http://google.client.shareholder.com/Visitors/event/build2/MediaPresentation.cfm?MediaID=33101&amp;Player=1#" target="_blank">Google about Chrome</a>.</p>
<p>The URL to download Google Chrome is <a title="Google Chrome download" href="http://gears.google.com/chrome/?hl=en">http://www.google.com/chrome </a>which is available now.</p>
